Privacy Policy
Effective October 22, 2026
Short version
- No sign-up, no account, no name or phone number.
- No advertising or third-party analytics. An anonymous first-party cookie counts unique website visitors.
- Emails are kept only briefly, in server memory, and are not sold or shared for marketing.
What we handle
- Your temporary address and a private key for it. Stored in your browser’s local storage so the page remembers your address. You can clear it by deleting site data in your browser.
- Emails sent to your address. The sender, subject and content of messages that arrive after you get your address are held in server memory within a 60-minute message window while the underlying inbox is active. Older mail in the inbox is never shown.
- Reviews, reports and ideas. Text you submit is saved on our server. Approved reviews, their rating, date and the name “Guest” are published on the Reviews page. A separate signed, first-party cookie helps limit reviews to one website review per browser and one review per received email. Only a keyed hash of this identifier and the reviewed item is stored with the review; the cookie lasts up to one year. Clearing browser data can reset this limit. Do not include an email address, code or private information.
- Your IP address. Used in memory to limit how many addresses can be created, to prevent abuse.
- Website visits. A random, first-party browser cookie lets us count unique visitors today, over the last 7 days and over the last 30 days. The server saves only a keyed hash of that ID for up to 30 days, not your IP address or the pages you opened. The cookie expires 90 days after your last page visit.
- Technical logs. Our server may log errors and the category of messages it hides (for example “financial”), without their content.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell or rent data, and we don’t use email content for advertising.
- We don’t send email from your address.
- We don’t show messages from Google’s account systems or from government, banking, payment, cryptocurrency and similar senders. They are hidden automatically.
Who else is involved
- Google. The inboxes are Gmail accounts, so Google receives and stores the emails under its own privacy policy. Tempgmail.io is not affiliated with Google.
- Our hosting provider, which runs the servers.
- Senders. External images in emails are blocked when you open a message, so opening it does not request those images from the sender’s servers. Following links in an email may contact external sites.
- Other visitors on the same inbox, as described in the Terms.
- Authorities, if we are required to by law.
How long we keep it
Public addresses expire after 10 minutes unless you extend them. Address sessions live in server memory and end on expiry or server restart. Fetched messages are kept in memory within a 60-minute message window while an inbox is active; the underlying Gmail account may keep copies under Google’s service. Anonymous visit hashes are kept for up to 30 days. Reviews, reports and ideas remain in server storage until an administrator removes them.
Children
Tempgmail.io is not intended for children under 16.
Your choices
You can stop using Tempgmail.io at any time and clear your browser’s site data to remove your address. Because we don’t have accounts, we usually cannot link any data to you personally. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
