How Long Does Temp Mail Last? Timers, Codes and Expiry
A temporary inbox runs on more than one clock. The address has a session timer, each code has its own validity set by the sender, and the website may enforce a resend cooldown. Knowing which clock you are looking at prevents most failed verifications.

How long a Tempgmail.io session lasts
Public sessions start with ten minutes. The countdown next to the address shows the time left. Tap the timer or use Extend time to keep the same address while you finish a task.
When the session ends, the tool stops showing that address and its messages to you. Messages sent to it afterwards will not appear in a new session.
Why a code can expire before the inbox
Many services accept a code for only a few minutes, and some cancel an older code when you request a new one. Extending the inbox does not change either rule. If a code is rejected, check that it is the newest message from your latest request.
Work in order: open the inbox, request the email, then enter the code straight away. Waiting until the timer is nearly finished leaves little room for a delayed message.
Plan your time
- Open the inbox before the sign-up page, so the address is ready to paste.
- Copy the address with Copy and check it on the form.
- Request the email once, then watch the inbox. A visible tab refreshes automatically.
- If the countdown is low, extend it before requesting the message, not after.
- Use the code, finish the task and end the session.
What happens after expiry
Expiry ends your access through this tool. It does not delete the underlying Gmail account, and it does not erase copies kept by the sender. A new address will not receive messages sent to the old one.
If you lose access to an account registered with a temporary address, use that service’s official recovery process. Tempgmail.io cannot recover accounts on other websites.
