Perplexity Sign-Up With Temp Mail: Why Each Login Needs the Inbox

Perplexity does not use passwords for its email sign-in. It sends a login link or one-time code each time, so a temporary inbox can get you in once. Getting back in later is the real question, and it should decide which address you use.
Sign in for a one-time session
- Open tempgmail.io and copy the current address.
- On perplexity.ai, choose to continue with email and paste the address.
- Return to the inbox and wait for the Perplexity message.
- Use the link or code straight away, in the same browser where you started.
- Run your searches, and save anything you need outside Perplexity before you leave.
Why you may not get back in
With no password, future sign-ins depend on receiving a new email at that address. Perplexity also says changing the email on an account is not supported. Once a temporary address ends, your thread history and settings could be out of reach, and you cannot move them to another mailbox.
A public address can also be shared, so another person who gets the address could request a sign-in message for the same account. Do not ask questions you would mind someone else seeing.
Which address to use
| Your goal | Better choice |
|---|---|
| Trying Perplexity once | A temporary address is workable |
| Keeping threads and history | Your own email |
| Subscribing to Pro | Your own email |
| Private work or health questions | Your own email and a review of its privacy settings |
What the free plan gives you
You can use Perplexity’s standard search without paying, with a limited number of advanced searches. Perplexity changes these allowances and independent guides quote different numbers, so check the limit shown in your account. Do not create extra accounts to get around those limits; if you want more, compare the paid plans.
Open the tool and check the address and timer before sending a message.
